Blue and Something Extra – CFFC

Today I am joining Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge hosted by Dan Antion at No Facilities. If you would like to participate please visit his site. The challenge today is to present photos with a dominant color of blue. This was an easy challenge for me as blue is my favorite color and the one I am most drawn to in nature.

I shot some of these photos locally, and others are from our travels. All of them express a happy, peaceful, or reflective mood. No other color in the universe speaks to me like blue.

Some days I need a reminder to ‘just breathe’ and these photos do it for me. I hope they have the same effect on you.

These scenes are from a beach near my home in Florida.

And these are from recent travels.

Blue is always a popular color choice for natural light family photos.

Nature provides an abundance of blues …

This clip is my ‘something extra’ for today. Does a particular color soothe your soul and evoke peaceful feelings, new beginnings, freshness? Turn the volume up for the best experience.

We will be busy moving this weekend and I won’t have time for a February wrap-up post. I will catch up soon.

Also joining Terri’s Sunday Stills for ‘Fresh.’ May blue wash over you with freshness!

I love the feeling of the fresh air on my face and the wind blowing through my hair. Evel Knievel

  1. This is a wonderful collection of blues. I love the photo pf the girls running down the walk. The shots of the water and the features around and in it are beautiful. I love the photo of the rope. Good luck with the move.

  2. Hi Suzanne – I hope the move goes smoothly and you feel settled in your new place until the time comes for the next big move. Loved all your blue photos – the air just seems clearer when there’s blue sky and water 🙂

  3. Suzanne, your images are exquisite in composition and in color choices. I love the shot of the girls running down the boardwalk and the one of the beach blanket! I hope your move goes smoothly. Some interesting things are on our horizon too. Have a great week!

  4. Suzanne,

I’ll be humming “Blue Velvet” all day because your post reminded me of the song. Great job with the photos. Like others, I agree the young girls running on the pier is a precious photo. I was not able to load the video but it’s probably an issue on my end. Wishing you a smooth move! Joe

    1. Joe, the little girls belong to a friend of mine. They were so into everything I asked them to do, including hanging from tree branches, jumping into the air, and finally that shot – running hand in hand down the pier. They instantly became my favorite family to photograph. I easily shot 300 photos that afternoon and most were keepers.

Thanks for letting me know about the video. I inadvertently had it set to ‘private.’ Now corrected.

  6. Good luck with your move, Suzanne! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos…I especially love turquoise and aquamarine water, whether it’s the ocean, Gulf, or one of the spring-fed rivers in Florida. There’s something about the color that always brings me peace.
